Short story malaise...

j_cheneyI have several stories awaiting their final revision before kicking them out the door....
4 of the 7 for this year so far have not 'officially' gone out. One is on Baen's Bar. Three sit on the Revisions Desk.
My plan is not to work on any other short stories until Oct., then do an October, November, and December, which will give me 10 for the year, as according to plan.
So today I started the October story. Rats! It's just there, waiting to be slugged down onto paper, so what can I do? I have to strike while the iron's hot.
This will be a sequel to The Dragon's Child, but of course, can't actually be written as such (in case I don't sell them to the same markets). I really think that if JBU isn't interested in these, Black Gate might be. Hmmm, never subbed at Black Gate before, and I hear the wait time is LOOOONG...
Anyone have any Black Gate experiences to share?
