Short story malaise...

I have several stories awaiting their final revision before kicking them out the door....
4 of the 7 for this year so far have not 'officially' gone out. One is on Baen's Bar. Three sit on the Revisions Desk.

My plan is not to work on any other short stories until Oct., then do an October, November, and December, which will give me 10 for the year, as according to plan.

So today I started the October story. Rats! It's just there, waiting to be slugged down onto paper, so what can I do? I have to strike while the iron's hot.

This will be a sequel to The Dragon's Child, but of course, can't actually be written as such (in case I don't sell them to the same markets). I really think that if JBU isn't interested in these, Black Gate might be. Hmmm, never subbed at Black Gate before, and I hear the wait time is LOOOONG...

Anyone have any Black Gate experiences to share?

You know me, I have never had the *cough*, well you know, to sub anywhere, but I did enjoy The Dragon's Child and I hope the edit I sent you helped a little. Let me know if there is anything else I can do, and good luck with it!

I'm waiting on TDC to see if I get any comment from the editors...(they've been really busy, so I'm just going to wait for a while). If they suggest more changes, then I'll get the chance to work them in. If not, then I'll do it before it goes out the door! Crits are always helpful. ;o)

Black Gate has been closed to submissions for the past few months to catch up on their backlog, but I think they're planning to open again soon. One of the editors is on LJ: bg_editor
