I'm off to FenCon (with a side trip to parents on the way). I have a critique session tonight, and those always make me sick to my stomach. So, I'm popping some Tagamet and hitting the roaad anyway.

One of the dogs is acting nauseated, so perhaps she's sharing my angst. I hope she's OK. I have very capable dog-sitters (in-laws) coming to take care of the beasts, so I'm going to take the chance and hope that it's just a finicky stomach on her part. (She might have eaten a bad grasshopper, or some tricky mulch. She eats lots of bad things in the yard.)

Nice to have my natural fatalism backed up.

Good luck. Face to face critique sessions never bother me for some reason. But when I have a story posted online and I see a response posted to it, it's often with a certain sense of dread I click in it. Sometimes, if the first sentence or two is tough, I can barely make myself read on. I guess that's why they teach people to always begin a critique with something nice. :)
But enough about me. :) Hope you and the dog get over this.
