Armadillos and Skinks

I got my group of manuscripts for the ArmadilloCon writer's workshop today. All four reads are novel starts, (as is mine) and one of them appears to be from a well-published novelist that I've met before. That's kind of nice, although I think the piece is likely to be humorous, which is not my favorite thing to read. We'll see. (Another looks uber-serious, but that might just be the 10 point Times New Roman font)
Anyhow, it looks to be a promising group.
Found a blue-tailed skink floating uspide down in my watering-can today, so I emptied him out the end...after which he promptly turned over and wriggled away into the grass. I had assumed upside-down-floating meant dead lizard. I'm glad to have been wrong. ;o)
