In that case, I'll be more specific. Make sure you see the version David Lean directed. (I'm not saying the other one is good or not, but, you know ...)

Also, if you watch it with a guy, tell him to withhold judgement until halfway through. Preferably all the way through. Most guys won't really like it until the halfway mark, and then (most) will go "OH!" and like it. When you watch it, you'll understand.

Finally, don't stress over trying to get it on DVD. It's not out on DVD in the US yet, I don't think. I bought a universal DVD player to play the British DVD. (Favorite movie, right?) You can rent the VHS, though, because it's David Lean.

I have a movie that finally came out on DVD (Riddle of the Sands) in UK, but not here....can I borrow your player? I think you can use electronics mailing rates to get it to me....

Just kidding. I need to get one of those, though. It's a pain to get older Australian movies. (I recently purchased what I believe might be a bootleg of an Indian movie....I honestly didn't know. I bought it from Amazon used---but I'm still a little suspicious)

You know, after all the time I spent agonizing over not being able to get/play various beloved movies, I was SHOCKED to find that a multi-region DVD player only costs around $50. Guess what Santa put under the tree?

Of course, once you get the player, then things start to get expensive! ;-)
