I had hopes this time, but my submission to F&SF didn't make a home run.

It got to GVG, though, which I feel like I have to consider a good thing (unless he's just doing his own slush now...)

Send it out again Monday...

Yeah, it just would have been so much cooler if he'd bought it. (Mixed emotions---that whole 'good rejection thing')

I try not to consider how pathetic it is that I'm still counting some rejections as successes. :-)

Yes, getting it to GvG is a good thing (or as a couple of F&SF-published authors have put it to me, that means you got "close"). Out of about two-dozen submissions there in not-quite-three years, I've only gotten two rejections from him.
