1) I'm reading Georgette Heyer's Penhallow, one of her cosy mysteries. I do love the way that woman writes. It probably wouldn't sell in today's market, but...still love it. She perfects the use of the 'squirrelly' word. And litotes? The woman nails them.

2) I applied for a week-long workshop in August. You know, sandwiched tightly between Conestoga and Denvention. I wonder if there will be any writing accomplished in August and September. Must plan accordingly.

3) People who have web-pages and forums should be obligated to remove them if they decide to no longer feed and care for them. Yesterday I went to an old market research site, got page-jacked four times, and when I finally did manage to get through to the forum, found it was all spam postings. Like an abandoned building with squatters living in it. I'm certainly glad I removed the link to it from the Carpe Libris Favorites page months ago.

ETA: "Squirrelly" is the term Larry Taylor once used to describe a class of words I struggle with in my personal writing....somewhat, slight, partial, faint, possible, uncertain...that kind of word. 'Gray area' words.
