I got up this morning and tried to get on-line only to have the computer tell me it couldn't connect. After running some diagnostics, I determined that the server itself was down. Obviously, it's back up now, much to my relief. I had 38 e-mails in my box, almost half of them about Arthur C. Clarke.

Still waiting on everything. No complaint there, as it's better than a rejection. I'll probably query Aberrant Dreams when they hit 200 days....although having heard the chatter before, it seems to me they do not always answer queries. Other things being held, and I suspect that most businesses are not going to get much done until after Easter (which also happens to be after Spring Break out here).

Got a battery for the laptop. Now the critter's mobile. Still has no name, possibly because it gets too little use to have a personality....

D2

So, I've been working on D2, the second dragon story, trying to make the rough draft presentable. Since it's part of a series of stories, it has backstory baggage. This is, of the 6, the most backstory-intensive of the batch, and therefore the most worrisome to me. I'm not too certain about it's individual saleability, while the other 5 don't worry me.

Plus, it's sort of an 'out of the fire, into the frying pan," story.
Open-ended. Very much so.

Tomorrow, I must groom the dog a bit, make the quinoa cake for which [livejournal.com profile] lisamantchev supplied the recipe a couple of days ago, drop by a couple of stores. Get the muddy dog prints off the floors. Poison the artemesia (not the Powys Castle, but the other two cultivars I have--which have turned out to be frighteningly invasive). Yes, I'm gonna poison it.

Work on D2.5, possibly walk the dog.

Big plans...
