13 Lines

My favorite South African david_de_beer has started up a community that will specialize in critiqing a spec-fic story's first thirteen lines. This is based on a Damon Knight thing, but being fairly 'How to Write' illiterate, I haven't actually read the source myself. (By the way, please don't feel the need to tell me it's the best writing book evar, and that I am soooo missing out by not having read it, and that you have a copy you can air-mail me for a minimal charge. I'd probably never get around to it.)

Anyway, for the adventurous I present 13lines. Ta Da!


On a personal note, walking the black dog in 92% humidity is not fun for the dog.
