I got some good sleep last night and the aches all appear to be gone.

While I was sleeping, rain came, then ice, then ice pellets. We've actually had a spinkling of snow as well, but we're expecting more sleet/ice pellets later tonight. Church was cancelled, as was the 'cookie exchange' I was to attend later this afternoon. Roads are slick and icy, and I'm not a big proponent of getting out there if I don't have to.

This is one of those rare times when I wished I had some talent with a camera. Ice storms leave these amazing, sparkling shells on everything which will melt as soon as the sun gets interested in that (predicted for Thursday). I can't capture that effectively on film. I have toyed with the idea of droppping by the cemetery this week to get a snow-pic for an icon....which I need.

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] displacedtexan took this for me....

Sanded and caulked the new baseboards. I'll paint them tomorrow, then move on to the hall bath on Tuesday? Wednesday? This was the worst bathroom, with 30 degree angles that jut out, not in, so getting the corners right was imperative. All the others have hidden corners. Much easier to fudge.

I plan to revise today. Perhaps I'll post later. ;o)

I used to live in Wichita, Ks, which is more like the weather you have in Oklahoma, I bet. Move to Austin! It's almost the sub-tropics this time of year. hee It's overcast and misting, but I don't need a jacket...today anyway. :)

I'm actually from El Paso, so not accustomed to this at all. Ice? What's that??

Ice is just water with a flow problem. :)

El Paso, huh? I can't hear the name without thinking of Marty Robbin's Gunfighter album when I was a wee tot of five. Pre-Beatles of course. Then I traded in my cowboy hat for Beatlemania. Though it took a few years before my parents would let me grow out my hair. hee

Well, I'm not crazy about it anymore either, just wondering if you'd heard it. My taste have improved since I was a toddler. *g*

The yaupons are particularly brilliant right now. The one up by the mailbox is covered with berries (and ice)

I'd never heard of those. I thought it was holly. Gorgeous, anyhow.

Cool! Or cold, anyway.

You probably don't want to hear about the weather here...

As a native northerner, it doesn't matter where you're from, ice means "stay home." Snow - driveable. Ice - not so much.

Yeah, we don't see so much snow out here...seems to go straight into ice.
