No rest for the weary/5 inches

So I should have just fallen in bed last night and gone right to sleep....

As soon as I lay down, the weather alert radio goes off to announce that there's quarter- sized hail in Normam. (That's the opposite corner of the county.) Then the torrential thunderstorm hits the house. Then the alert goes off again....then the thunderstorm.... You get the idea.

The weather alert radio woke me up 5 times last night. The storms just kept coming. I got very poor sleep. We had 5 inches of rain last night (officially 4.9), but I haven't found any damage to the house or the vegetation. I really think I'm going to have to take a nap later today.....

Quarter-sized hail? My God, this must make a lot of noise--not to mention be pretty worrisome.
I hope it calms down so you can get some sleep...

It was south of us, so we didn't have it here. Does a lot of damage to roofs and cars, though...

Perhaps tonight....
