The problem is, I think, that I didn't really understand I was speaking Dutch, or I did, but not fully. I remember once when traffic was stopped, and my father got out and went up to see what was going on. We got out to stretch our legs, and I went up to a cop and said, "Var ist mein vader?" He found him for me.
