j_cheney: (Plot Bunny)

The Plot Bunny Strikes.

I just had a rather large element of the plot 'unfold' in my mind, presenting me with the reason for everything that happens in this book.

Yes, it waited until 2/3s of the way through the second draft to do so.

I blame the bunny. Keeping secrets from me again! Dratted bunny!

Sorry, J. Does give me a chance to use this icon I adopted just for your LJ. ;o)

Actually, this is a good thing, because the POV character is rather naive....so figuring things out late kinda fits her. But I still would rather have known myself.

The bunny is very capricious.

Yea, verily...

Cue the Monty Python Holy Grail rabbit imagery in my mind...

Sorry, now you'll be at it all night...

The Bunny should be too busy to be causing trouble right now.

However, the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch is bound to help.

;o)

I've had that happen 2/3 of the way through a short story before, but never novel length. That's one evil bunny.

Fortunately, it's not the POV characters actions that have suddenly become clear, but the impetus for several other people's actions--so it's not as bad as it could be. People have been hiding things from her all along, so why not this, as well....

Actually not too much.

The chapters that I kep re-doing? (29 and 30) Those are the dividing point, so now I can proceed more comfortably.

When I do my read-through after finishing, I may need to add a few sentences for forewshadowing, but now I feel more competent to do that. This is a good thing, honestly ;o)

You need to hug that bunny, because you couldn't have planned it better.

So true...

Well, what did you expect at this time of year!? :) Glad to hear it appeared, in any case. At least you know what you'll be doing in the next draft...

How true!

"Bunnies! Floppy, hoppy, bunnies!"

Evil floppy bunnies...

Perfect timing for plot bunnies:o)

Especially chocolate ones...mmmm....

Chocolate is the best ;o)

Yours is a frisky bunny! :D You sound pretty happy, so it must have been an awesome revelation (if I'm reading you right?). How much rewriting are we talking, here?

[identity profile] j-cheney.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, not as much as I'd feared due to the 'in the dark' nature of the POV character. I found it out about when she did...
