1.99 gas, and last minute things....

Dug out the lantana, planted tulips and a flat of pansies. Husband carted in 8 bags of cedar mulch, which will be spread next week. Finished laundry, husband dug out the passports. Thought about packing. Will do that later this evening.
Went to the park with dog. As it was sunny, I ended up carrying the dog part of the way. Uphill. I commented to husband that the Scottish probably have an event like this in the Highland games...the Uphill-30-Pound-Dog-Lift-and-Carry or something like that. The dog thought that was the best part of the walk. Dratted beast.
Haven't decided what to read for the BU RFR at WFC. So I have 5 minutes or so of:
a) Taking a Mile (forthcoming in Writers of the Future 24)
b) The Dragon's Child (forthcoming in Beneath Ceaseless Skies)
c) Early Winter, Near Jenli Village (forthcoming in Fantasy Magazine)
Any recommendations, based on the titles alone? The husband is leaning toward C
