So far this year...

Submissions: 11 (got one out last night)
Rejections: 8
Acceptances: 2
Pending: 4 (2 are left over from last year, both at 200+ days)
(Yes, I know, it doesn't add up. 1 of the rejections was for something old.)

Ok, not too bad. I need to get more submissions out, but that's not the #1 priority.

Goals:
1) Start looking for an agent for DD
2) Finish up rough draft of DitD
3) Work out outlines of its two sequels
4) Finish up the hero story
5) Write the elephant story

And that's more than enough to keep me busy for now...

I'm gonna be sick...

I have a weird relationship with clothing.

Having worked for years as a buyer, I am keenly aware that clothes are like diamonds. To some extent, the only thing that makes them expensive is their perceived value. Really, we could all wear blue coveralls from the Walmart automotive department and be adequately clothed, folks. We could. (This is the frugal part of my nature talking here).

Then again, appearances do have importance, as they affect how others perceive you, and often how they treat you as well. (This is the practical part of my psyche)

And there is also the artistic nature of clothing, where one expresses oneself by what one wears. (Yeah, I do like cool stuff. I'll call this my 'artistic' side)

But still, when it comes down to it, I HATE the idea of spending money on an evening gown I will probably never wear again. I'm pleased that the occasion is looming, but I hate spending the money. It seems like a waste...
