Volunteering Pays! (Quite literally)
Feb. 28th, 2008 03:21 pmIn the mail today I got a refund check from WFC 2006. Wild! Thanks to their treasurer for thinking of it. I've been a treasurer of a large convention before, and I know what a paperwork nightmare it can be....
I volunteered at Registration for the con in Austin, but I don't think I ever got around to signing the 'volunteer paperwork'. IIRC, I remember every time I went over to con ops it was locked up....which happens--so I don't think I actually ever signed in. I didn't really sweat it because I had a grand time there. Once I left I didn't give it a single thought. So...wow, nice gift for the day!
I'll have to say it again, the people at FACT run a fantastic con! ArmadilloCon is my personal favorite, but WFC was fantastic also. I hope I can get to Armadillo this year.
I also recevied a copy of Sushi for Beginners from
barrieinca, today. ;o) Thanks so much!! I'm looking forward to reading it while taking a hot bath, eating bon-bons and calling all my friends on the phone. (That's an inside joke).
