Just a followup on some various Market Research Sites:
1) Ralan's Webstravaganza
Ralan Conley keeps the most extensive and up-to-date market site that I know of on-line. While his information per venue is not the most extensive, it is the most current. Also, Ralan is good about warning people off bad markets. If he says "Not Recommended", do not send anything there.
2) Duotrope's Digest
Duotrope is a market research implement that goes outside the spec-fic industry, but is a very good search tool. You might want to take an hour or so to get familiar with it's many useful pages. Duotrope's response information is particularly helpful at indicating how fast a market has responded within the last year. (They only go back that far). THe following pages are useful:
What's New Page: All the information that's come in in the last 7 days.
Submission Tracker: Where your submssions are. (If you don't have anything put in, this will be rather boring. It tracks:
Date Sent, Date Rec'd, Response Type, Days Out, Avg Return Time, Estimated Return Time (What the market itself claims), as well as indicating whether or not you've reached the 'query now' date.
3) The Black Hole
This allows you to see individual data points per publisher going back for several years. Helpful if you want to know how they've been doing this month.
4) Speculations Acceptance and Rejection Log
This allows you to see WHO is being rejected. Some fairly big names use this log, and I never feel as badly about getting rejected by a market...if I saw that they rejected Eugie Foster or Marie Brennan also....
All four are different, and I check them all regularly (have them in my Favorites list). You might want to give them a try. ;o)

Has anyone seen Quintamid lately? Their web-page appears to be MIA...
