In the Mail/Baseboards
Jan. 10th, 2008 12:41 pmI got my boots in the mail yesterday. They are completely made of wonderful. They've been worn, but not enough to wear off the paper tags on the sole, so that's just a bit. They fit perfectly, which I expected they would since I know the brand.
I received the newest CD from Little Big Town. I do like it much, but I think I'll drop two songs off the computer file. (I'll try them a couple more times to see if they grow on me). I may be the only Spec-fic writer in the world who listens to Country music but doesn't write Bubba fiction. At a panel at last year's AggieCon, we all discussed our music preferences....I was outside the norm for writers.
I also got a copy of Heart of Stone by
mizkit and started reading this. It has a person with wings, which many people might recall is a pet peeve of mine, but this isn't a human with wings, so I'm more inclined to be forgiving. So far, I like the book. ;o)
And finally, the baseboards are nailed in, with caulk drying as I type (including on my fingers and shirt). Bits of spackle to fill some nail holes, sanding and paint tomorrow. One of the nice things about doing the work yourself is that you really get to take your time while a subcontractor would be on a timetable. So I can come up here and type out a few words, and leave the caulk to cure thoroughly.
