Moving forward...
Oct. 19th, 2007 02:49 pmI'm working on the story and, having given myself permission to make it longer, I feel much more comfortable. I actually purchased a used copy of Reign of Fire and watched it today, primarily to get the dragon movements in my head. That movie had great FB dragons, although it lacked somewhat in the area of physics. (Also, if dragons eat ash, wouldn't they logically spend all their time in heavily forested areas? Who bother to chase humans at all? Serious hostility issues like fire ants have?) Anyhow, still making progress on that.
I was given a book on Chinese Dragons, which should also be helpful with this series. Then I got a 1908 copy of Steam, Steel, and Electricity (1895, ironically enough by James Steele). Excellent research material. The book was hand assembled, BTW, with pages of different sizes and a couple of places where the pages haven't even been cut apart--which indicates that this copy has never been thorooughly read. Because this is aged and fragile, I won't take it to WFC.
I do have a text on Garbage to read, and a new book, The Great Influenza. I decided that I shouldn't read On Killing on the trains either....I don't want to get turned over to Amtrak security. ;o)
Anyhow, busily trying to get things sorted out. Almost all in place. ;o)
