Back out...
Sep. 14th, 2007 12:57 pmSat down this morning and got TNOD back out, this time to Aberrant Dreams. Once again, this is my first sub at that location, so who knows? This story seems to provoke one of two reactions: the form rejection, or 'close, but no cigar'. Perhaps this will be the 'we like it' or the 'we like it enough to request a re-write'.
Either would be fine with me. ;o)
Worked on the October and follow-up stories yesterday. Feeling a bit of guilt since I haven't done extensive research on Chinese dragons...then again, this is fiction, not an article for Smithsonian. I've gone to the local library, which had prctically nothing. Russian folklore was equally sparse, but what I did find left me with the impression that RF is so disorganized as to suggest that a writer could bend the folklore a bit (so long as one doesn't cross certain specific types of creatures). Anyhow, I need to have a character tell a story about the princess who weds a water tzar (who usually takes the form of a sea-serpent, in this instance)...and I think I can get away with that. Yay for countries without many written ancient folklore sources.
Must go book plane tickets...
