The Green Monster
Sep. 6th, 2007 02:23 pmThe Green Monster is in full bloom right now...

I'll be cutting it back in a couple of months, probably near to the ground again. The last time I cut it was last spring, so the above represents two years of growth. The neighbor on the other side of the fence has never complained about it, and has allowed me into their yard to cut it. It looks like this for a few weeks each fall, but otherwise is just a giant mass of leaves for the rest of the year. If you don't have room for this one to spread, don't plant it.
ETA:This is a Sweet Autumn Clematis or Autumn Blooming Clematis, Clematis Paniculata. Sorry, not much smell...just prettiness.
I find myself on page 101 of Devil in the Details which I consider decent progress. Of course, I'm not editing much as I go, which means it's a slap-dash sort of first draft. Since I plan to hit The White Queen after I get some Fencon commentary, that give me about two more weeks to get as much of DitD done as possible. In addition, in October, I have to start the next short story, which is already mentally in the works....
Time to get busy!
