Avoidance...
Apr. 19th, 2007 06:15 pmI'm not having a writer's block. I'm having writer's avoidance.
I'm supposed to be revising King's Daughter. Instead, I'm working on two or three other unrelated projects, because I just seem to get bogged down every time I start working on KD. More like writer's paralysis.
It's one of those big project problems....you look at a big project and it seems overwhelming. I need to take the book apart, cut away some unneccessary scenes, put in some new scenes, and then re-weave the novel into a perfect seamless whole....
So...I'll do it on Monday.
Spent 3 hours in the garden today, got a bit toasted because I lost track of time. Now, to work on the April story instead.
I thought 10 short stories in 2007 was doable...but man..it's tough!
