Sigh of contentment...
Mar. 14th, 2007 06:56 pmFinished the ROUGH draft of the March story this afternoon. Came in at 6150, and since I aimed at 6K, I'm pleased overall. Plus I felt good at the end of it, which is always nice in a first person story. I'm going to let "Whatever Else" sit until after AggieCon, do a clean up, and then probably post it on Baen's Bar, just to see how people like it.
The voice is rather similar to that in "Stains of the Past", so I need to make certian I differentiate that out, but it's certainly nothing like the voice in "The Nature of Demons". My big experiments with first person. Woo. I don't know how Carol Berg manages it.
I also wrote almost 3K of the April story. It came to me during one of my recent sleepless nights. Unfortunately, I have the requisite dead body, the scene, and the cause of death. I don't have the motive quite worked out yet. Hey, gimme a break. It's the April story. It's going to hit 10K. I can feel it in my bones.
