It looks like snow....but it ain't!
Jan. 17th, 2007 06:28 pmIf you go outside our house, the world looks all perfect and snowy...
Unfortunately, that white stuff isn't snow. It's ice pellets compressed down into a serious, couple-of-inch-thick layer. We drove over it a couple of times in the car, and barely made a mark on it...and then slowly slid backwards down the driveway, doing a nice 180 as we did so. We slid back out to the middle of the street, drove around the the cul-de-sac and had a second run at the garage. Made it! Then husband went to get the mail....and nearly couldn't get back uphill.
School districts are closed again tomorrow, and I bet Friday too, when we're expected to get between 6-10 inches of snow on top of this mess! And another winter storm is coming up behind that.
Sometimes I miss desert...
