Year in review
Dec. 30th, 2006 11:21 amUm, let's see....
(Please don't be critical of the tiny numbers...I just don't do short (This is actually from the beginning of records...12/05...includes 2 submissions from that month))
Short stories: 7 total (Do not laugh!)
Submissions: 11 total (I'm not counting the story I sent out last night)
Sales: 3 (although one of the publishers has folded, voiding the sale--grrr)
Good rejections: Um, I'll call it 3.5
Bad rejections: 3 ("Didn't grab"s and that pesky BFOD)
Still lurking at an editor's desk: 1 (There since early June)
Still out: 3
Trunked: 1
You know, these numbers just don't seem to add up! ::scratching head, but not willing to work to figure it out::
Novels:
Submissions: 2
Rejections: 1 (amazing 4-day turn-around)
Evidently lost in the ether: 1 (no word, no response to 2 follow-up queries)
Plans for next year?
1) Do suggested revisions on Dreaming Death and submit it again.
2) Finish The Sins of the Fathers first draft and sit on it.
3) Re-work The King's Daughter then start on editing of first draft of The White Queen
4) Possibly see about entering that spec-romance contest that
dotar_sojat placed in. (He called my intro for The Peace of Strength 'hot' when he read it a couple of years ago, but that would mean actually finishing that novel...when it's in bare-bones outline form now. Must read the rules thoroughly.)
5) Get out of being treasurer for the OWFI. (I must practice saying no)
6) Possibly work with
dotar_sojat on starting a spec-fic writers group for central Oklahoma
7) Start outlining the "Grandfather's Children" story-line. I have the characters all worked out, just need to get the plots lined up.
Write some more short stories....(heavy sigh)
