So, I'm out doing the morning walking thing at the park, and a woman coming the other direction tells me, in a mildly panicky voice, that a bird grabbed her hair.

OK, so what am I supposed to do about that? I smile and look sympathetic and move on.

I come around the bend and about five minutes later.....there's a kite stooping at my head. I duck down real fast. (The Mississippi Kite is NOT a little bird. It's got a 3 foot wingspan and nasty little talons.) It misses me, goes up into a tree and glares for a second, and then makes another run at me.
all told, it made five passes at me. I did defend myself bravely with my spare shirt, so it never actually got a piece of my hide.

I stopped walking at this park for a while after the day I had three different snakes cross my path. I thought that seemed to be an omen of Biblical proportions. So what does a bird attack portend?

Other things happened today, but this is the one fit for the journal...
