Black-bottom coconut bars....

I tried making these and they turned out to be excellent. Not too sweet, just the right amount of chocolate. I've decided that coconut is OK. Much to my surprise, I did not overcook the bottom brownie-like layer. (I'm brownie impaired) What a shocker!
Here's the recipe.

Olives, however, I have not been able to convince myself to try. They smell absolutely vile, and I really can't get past that. I bought a black olive tapenade for displaced_texan and the smell is revolting. (He likes it, though. He can't smell it.)

I think I have finished a rough draft of the May story, but have not yet figured out a name. The Persistence of Vision? Who knows. It is definitely too long for the Mundane issue of Interzone, but I'll clean it up and shop it around somewhere else. Revisions loom before me, as I have several stories in the first draft stage, waiting to be caressed and stroked until they're presentable. I should do that now....

There are soooooo many different kinds of olives. They don't all smell like old feet. =D

Maybe some day you'll find the olive that has your name on it.

I don't know....I'm trying to expand my palate, but there are just some places I don't think I'll ever go. ::shudders::

Perhaps the next time we go downtown to the mediterranean deli (which has something like a million varieties of olive) I can ask them which ones are palatable.

No title for your story? Try thinking about solving that problem right before you go to sleep. Let the subconscious do its job and in the morning you might have an answer.

Titles are often a problem for me. I really do need to think about it for a while, but since this is an SF story (not my forte at all) it's more of a challenge.

However, the more I think about it, the better I think "The Persistance of Vision" is. (It's about a cop with Artificial Retina Implants, and what he does when they get knocked out)

My dad can make brownies, but I just didn't get the gene for it. My sister-in-law can make them too. It's just something you can do, or you can't!

I will be at WFC, so you'd better have brownies prepared!
