Various and Sundry

Happy BD to [livejournal.com profile] kijjohnson!

A voice from the edge of the void:
28 days to a 3rd round hold notice from ASIM.

I must say that I'm impressed with their submission system. This is the first time I've subbed there, but they've been nicely communicative at every step so far. I hope they like my story well enough to buy it ;o)

This story now joins the others being held for final consideration. (494, 456, 180, 127.....28) I'm learning patience, which is the point of this, right? Unfortunately, my prognostojections have me worried about my other two submissions out there.

Almost done with Iron Shoes 36K. I'm crazy for writing this one.

It's a little "girly" for my taste, but so far I kind of like "Iron Shoes". I don't think you're crazy for writing it as I'm sure it'll find a good home.

Wow! So far, the longest I've had to wait is 111 days. Still waiting with that one, too. ;-)

prognostojections

Love the term!

And two of those are at the same market. (I have queried and they are all still under active consideration, not lost)

Prognostojection is a bad habit, rather addictive, like watching the stock market. I can't help myself!

ooo, I'm so excited for you! goodthoughtsgoodthoughtsetc, indeed!

Thanks ;o)

Good luck with all those held stories! I usually have about one out of three get bought after a hold notice, so I assume you'll get some sales out of that pile.
And I have a third-rounder at ASIM right now as well. Here's to hoping we share a TOC there soon. :)

That would be cool!

My main hope right now is that my 41-day baby is being held. If not, I should know in a couple of days....

What do you meant learning patience? You are patient.

Sending good thoughts for all your holds.

If I were patient, it wouldn't bother me to be waiting so long ;o)

Thanks!

ASIM's submission process is nicely open to the writer, so you can see what's going on. It still takes forever, I've two stories coming out with them in the next two issues -- they were submitted in January and November 2007, each sold about five or six months later, and only now coming out in early 2009.

One reason one has to keep writing is to have things to keep the pumps primed. Publishing is not a fast business. (grin)
