I am eligible for the Campbell Awards this year*, although I don't appear on the official page listing eligibles. (There's been a tangle up over their switch to a new platform, so a lot of the newcomers aren't listed there yet.)

This award is for the Best New Writer who has been published at the professional** level for the first time in the previous two years (2007 0r 2008). Therefore, I became eligible in June of 2007 when Baen's published "Touching the Dead" (which they later reprinted in The Best of JBU 2). This was my second story published (the first came out in The Sword Review in 2006).

Since then I have sold stories since to excellent venues like Writers of the Future, Fantasy Magazine, and Beneath Ceaseless Skies. A list is available on my profile page, and there are links to most on the sidebar.

If you are interested in reading my Writers of the Future story (they have not done a mass market print run, so this can be hard to find) or my story "Touching the Dead" from JBU, please feel free to e-mail me and I can send a copy.

I can also make some suggestions of other people to vote for, if you need hints. ;o)________________________________
*I was actually eligible last year, as well, but didn't put myself forward.
**As per SFWA standards.

Lois Tilton reviews the December stories of Beneath Ceaseless Skies wherein she admires the evilness (Mwahahaha!) of my villain. (Mine is the very, very last story reviewed on the page).

The wizard has some interesting sadistic tricks, confirming him as evil indeed. Too many authors don't make their villains work for the honor.

Sereval other magazines are reviewed there, and I noticed a Recommended mark for [livejournal.com profile] ogre_san's newest in ROF and [livejournal.com profile] joshrountree's latest in Lone Star Stories. Way to go!
