So, with all the recent web-work I've been doing, these are my profound reflections:
1) A few days ago, I friended an flister of mine on Facebook. The security system asked me to type in two words to prove I wasn't a spammer. The words were extraordinary drain. I kid you not. I suspect it's prophetic.
2) Still haven't figured out the purpose of GoodReads, unless it's the same as above.
3) WordPress, OTOH, is extremely nice. I've switched my writing group's web-site over there, which will allow the others to tinker with their own pages. (Before, I was using one hosted on my own ISP, which meant 'hands off'.) I've also switched over my personal webpage and cleaned it up a bit. I look the look better (and it has more tombstones from the Necropolis.)
I got the statcounters swapped directly over from the old pages and will continue to link up the CarpeLibris page over the next several days. Then I'll take the old site off-line and switch the www.carpe-libris.com addy over to hosting the new Wordpress pages.
Wordpress will never replace my beloved LJ, though.
Added 3.4K to the WIP, still hours to go. Shooting for 5K today!
