...in the wallet yet again.

Following her dirt-eating experiment, she started exhibiting gastro-intestinal distress, lethargy, and paleness of the tongue. So, another round of tests--yes, somewhat expensive--determines that she's either:
a)ingested some rat poison, or
b)has an immune-mediating-disorder.
She's definitely gotten very anemic. Further blood tests should tell us by tomorrow morning which of the two it is. We're actually pulling for the rat poison diagnosis.

We-ve explained to her that she will have to stay alive to work off her debt to us, and set the rate at $500 per annum, which meant she has to live at least five more years. Now she's almost up to 6. If she doesn't get better, she'll have to live forever.

I need a sale soon. Bleh!

Apparently the Single-kidney Dog has Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia. Not rat poison after all. This could mean eternal steriods for the dog, or it could go away. She's never exhibited it before, so I'm hoping that it's something triggered by her surgery (or possibly the dirt-eating).

Other than getting the dog to the vet, I got a lot of housework done, made a second trip to the vet, posted off a mss, some grocery shopping, registered my car. Cooked 3 meals. No writing (or revising) yet. Will probably watch Chuck in a bit, and then get to work....

I'm glad we know what's causing it now. Thanks for all the kind wishes before!
