Tradition...
Jul. 4th, 2007 03:47 pmOn the Fourth of July,
displaced_texan and I like to get up and listen to the usual reading of the Declaration of Independence on Morning Edition. Link here. (Doesn't seem to be playing properly yet.)
This year's has different music, which I found distracting, and they've (as they often do) changed some of the voices. They left in Red Barber, but took out Baxter Black (waaaah!). There is just nothing like listening to a 'Cowboy Poet and Former Large Animal Veterinarian' reading the words of Thomas Jefferson. I missed hearing Baxter.
Later we'll listen to the Capital Steps as they offend everyone on bother sides of the mall. Big Plans....
Have a nice Fourth, everyone. ;o)
