There seems to be an unexplained pirate theme going on today in the posts... I have no clue what that's about. Anyone? What's gotten into these people?

orogeny admired my baseball analogy, I decided to go out and check on that player stuck on second base, Touching the Dead, which may be renamed Touched. Baen's Universe has a unique link for each story so you can check it's progress in the rtf queue. Mine was sent up for consideration on 7/24 of this year. The progress report now says that the editor is reading stories from January. Therefore, I suppose it'll be on second base for a while. I consider it an honor to have gotten that far, so don't take that as a complaint.
I am also sending out one of the new batters....The Bear Girl (Yeah, if you can come up with a better title, just let me know.). It's heading to Fantasy, so I have to get that done in the next few minutes.
Then I'll write that bit of flash (I assume that would be a pinch-hitter)I've been thinking about and look at the re-write I've been putting off for a long while. No dead bodies or bones in that one, so where's the fun?

Avast! (Is this a proper situation in which to say Avast?) Fantasy is closed to submissions for about a month longer. Didn't read that on Ralan's page (right there in front o' me eyes) and went into the drink....
