Sep. 17th, 2006 05:10 pmSo, we're telling some friends last Sunday night how we have the same two TVs we had in college, and we don't watch enough TV to make getting fancy ones worthwhile. Ours will last forever, so why replace a perfectly good TV? Huh?
Wednesday night, right in the middle of an excellent episode of Simpsons (the one where Homer eats the chile pepper of insanity, meets his totem animal, and discovers that Marge really is his soulmate) the picture tube on the 20 years old Samsung just dies....just dies. Screen goes black. TV still hums, no picture.
Not really fixable.
So, yes, we bought a new TV.
This year has been one of those years where we've had to replace a herd of things, (5 dead trees, washer, dryer, computer, tires, brakes, now TV). Hopefully, this is the last major expenditure for the year!
All I can say is that the new Samsung TV better last another 20 years!
