Aftermath of a CON
Aug. 15th, 2006 02:21 pmReturning from ArmadilloCon, I was far more exhausted that I really had a right to be. I have a hard time being friendly and it's tough to sit there for hours and smile. It must be much more difficult for the people on the panels who have to stay till midnight and answer strange questions and smile....
Decided to join Broad Universe, which I have already done. I'll let you know later what they do (when I have a more precise idea). If nothing else, I'll get to read those intriguing looking articles that are currently inaccessible to me.
Got a quick rejection from Fantasy Magazine on The Nature of Demons. It's up at Critters anyway, so I'm not heartbroken. I've gotten several critiques--some from my regulars, and a couple of newbies. I'll read them all more thoroughly later, get the piece revised, and shoot it out to ROF.
(It's the unreliable narrator piece, in first person. I read a bunch of Sherlock Holmes to get the feel I wanted, but the time period is vastly different, so I'll have to wait and see how the readers thought it came out.)
One of the dogs is sick and vomitted up her medicine on the landing, where I now have lovely lemon-yellow stains on the beige carpet.....
