Planning Surgery....
Jul. 22nd, 2006 10:44 amI got another critique last night on The King's Daughter which basically told me what the other two people told me--which was what my mother told me--and indeed, I already knew. A bit slow in the middle, too much information, cut a couple of characters.
It was a two page critique for a 600 page novel (and took him a few months to finish), so he didn't actually give me much helpful information. In fact, only one of the three has answered my specific questions so far. (I asked--what scenes do you think can be cut, and where do I need to put in more description.) So far, the reader out in Australia did the best job of telling me those things, although I am counting on my last reader, MG, to do a bang-up job. He's the one who actually asked me to post the novel so he could read it.
