POV Ethics
Jun. 11th, 2006 01:45 pmGot to page 407 last night before I conked out. Still moving along, which is a good thing.
You know, I never use the bad guy's POV. It might make things easier if I did, but strangely I feel like I have to pick a side to be on. I always wonder about stories that insert a bit of the bad guy's POV....I ask myself why?
Why is the person recording the story listening in of the evil people's heads? If they're in touch with the good guys, why not tip them off? Or tip off the bad guys?
It sort of like those Wild Kingdom episodes where you know the bunny's about to be eaten by the snake. Unless you're rooting for the snake, you're probably cringing and wondering why the photographer doesn't intervene....(There's nothing wrong with snakes)
I would just feel guilty (unless I was actually on the dark side).
