Excessive TVage...

I've watched quite a bit of TV this weekend.

--Last four episodes of Mission: Impossible, Season 1.
(one of which guest-starred Eartha Kitt)
--This Old House
--Seabiscuit
--Jericho (1 episode)

Later tonight, I'll watch more, including my regular dose of Chuck and a PBS special called House of Life: The Old Jewish Cemetery in Prague. I'm really pumped about the latter (from which the current icon is taken), as it's in some of the cemetery books I own and I'm not likely to get to Prague any time soon.

And I tried to watch Twilight this morning. After my trip to the grocery store, I stopped at the RedBox and shelled out a dollar for the experience. I made it through an hour. I doubt I have the patience for the rest of it. Just not the movie for me.

I didn't do teen angst when I was a teenager. I don't enjoy watching it now.

Hey, but I did give it a try.

There was a terrific early episode of Mission: Impossible (the tv series) guest-starring Loretta Swit as the former girlfriend of Jim Phelps... I think it was a Nimoy show, too; it has been a long time.

Tsk tsk.

Was in Prague back in '94. Very cool trip.

Went for my sister's wedding. Her husband was from Texas, so the cooks did their best to attempt a "Texas Barbecue" for his family. The ceremony was in a castle, the reception in a park maintained by one of the velvet revolution rebels. The Czechs and the Texans found each other very entertaining, though not always in a good way.

Saw the old Jewish cemetery while there. It was very striking how the stones were crowded together. Crooked angles and weathered. In the sections I saw, a person would have been forced to climb over the stones of many dead just to leave a pebble atop a grave ten feet away.

A friend loaned Larc the book of "Twilight." All through the movie she was telling me about what was in the book and how it was written. I was cringing and laughing enough to keep it entertaining.

You are a braver soul than I.

"I made it through an hour."

Sounds like a challenge! I plan to give it the ol' college try one of these days. I loves me some bad movies.

The current obsession with vampires is WAY over the top. Teens are gaga over them, and my B&N is so full of them they threaten to drain the blood right out of anyone who enters the store.
