RTF pile moving....

I've hear from both Amber Sistla [livejournal.com profile] adsistla and Simon Horvat that their stories will appear in October's JBU (as "Introducing"). (Both heard yesterday)

a) Way to go, you two!!!

b) People with RTFs waiting, this indicates that the RTF pile at JBU is moving.

c) Think good thoughts for my two stories, flisters! Please!!

I haz illustrayshuns, can I show you dem?

This turned out to be my favorite. ;o)

First, I do have the artists' permission to reproduce these on my blog. The artists all let me keep their work, which is so much better than trying to take pictures. They were all done in pencil, so a few didn't scan in as well as I'd like, but I hope you can get a good idea from the scans.

I read my story "Taking a Mile" aloud to the group after a brief introductory session. Larry Dixon was our moderator and really handled the process very well. He also put me very much at ease, which helped! All the artists were very nice, and I've included work from most of them behind the cut. Some of them are hard to see, because they are light....don't know how to fix that....

This story posed a challenge for them because there are not many overtly SF images, so it was interesting to hear them discuss the different approaches they took.

If you don't recognize the above style, that would be the work of the awesome IGOH, Stephen Hickman. ;o)

Now up!

My "Masks of War" is now available at Fantasy Magazine...

(The art, according to the editor, is not the right piece, but they'll get it swapped out)

ETA: The art is now switched out, to a lovely red Welsh Dragon. Could not be more appropriate. ;o)
