Sausage Rolls and Deflating Sub-plots
Apr. 17th, 2008 06:47 pmI got my e-mail today from About Australia that said I only have 5 more days to order Meat Pies and Sausage Rolls to get them in time for ANZAC Day. Now, I admit that I've never honored ANZAC Day, (I could only bear to watch Gallipoli once) but sausage rolls make it really tempting.
And I confess, I'm more likely to remember Beersheba Day than ANZAC day. But those people are out dressing up in uniform and charging across Israel. Don't know if they got to eat sausage rolls out there.
Worked on Chapter 3 of SOTF. I had an epiphany about how to handle the overwhelming sub-plot....by simply saying it had been handled in the month between the two books. While the prospective drama might have been great fun to write, it dragged at the main plot, making the focus of the story-line a bit unclear. I feel oddly relieved....
ETA: Now I'm an adult, becasue I can insert wordcounts like the rest of the big kids.
Did I mention that I really like sausage rolls?
