Super Cool!

I got my first three issues of Fantasy Magazine today. Clarkesworld, those nice people, arranged for me to get 1-4 with my subscription (because I wanted all the issues eventually).

I'm pumped about reading these, and I hope it'll give me a better idea what the editors look for in their fiction. Par for the course, I'm starting with #3, and I'll work backward, so I won't get to [livejournal.com profile] eugie's story "The Bunny of Vengeance and the Bear of Death" for a while, but I expect it'll be a scream.

I'm also pumped because it gives me something light-weight to carry around while I'm at ArmadilloCon. I was going to bring my copy of Elemental, but it is indeed much heavier!

Good intentions

I thought I had the plot to Twilight Time all worked out in my head, but as I started writing, the niggling feeling that it had somehow gone wrong surfaced. It was the college student in the van, I think...
Now I have to rethink it again, which I can do while driving Thursday.

So, I put it aside, and started working on A&D, and wrote 2K last night and more today. Is that what I'm supposed to be working on? No.

As the mss of The White Queen approaches 600 pages, I'm beginning to admit to myself that one of the sub-plots, my absolute favorite, is going to have to go. This will top out at 630, I think, far too long, and while I love that particular sub-plot, it doesn't actually advance the primary plot (or the secondary one). *Heavy sigh*
