Back to work...

I did basically no writing for the last two days, mainly due to hustling around and doing little things. I need to work tonight, so I'll turn of the internetz and dig in....but only on something fun.

Received in the mail:
-Membership in the Roundbottom Foundation, along with my wonderful 8x10 of Another Clockwork Curiosity.
-Copy of Head Cases (About Traumatic Brain Injuries) (will not be read until next year)
-Cards, plus a GC to the CheeseCake Factory
-Copy of WOTF24, purchased through Galaxy Press to donate to a charity auction....yes, I had to buy a copy to donate it.

Work done:
-Lots of research on 1905 dress. Unfortunately, the book I got at the library only covers women's dress of the period, which frustrates me....but it was free, so I shouldn't complain.

Purchased:
50% off 8'3"x 11" rug. Home Decorators is closing their store here, and was dumping only the 'damaged' rugs, but this one only had loose binding. [livejournal.com profile] displacedtexan has long said that the rug we had in that room was way too small. This one fits, so it was worth a dip in the savings.

Commentary:
I find Facebook very frustrating and limiting. Even with the new format.

Commentary 2:
Garrison Keillor was at ACU? He broadcast from Moody Coliseum? Wild.
The funniest part was listening to the Dean of Biblical Studies trying to explain how a huge group of churches can actually exist without a church heirarchy. Seemed to boggle Keillor's mind. ;o) (Or he was just acting, also possible)

Reading notes:
Still reading "The Great Influenza" and "The Penguin Book of Vampire Stories". There's a story by C.L.Moore which is creepily similar to FdM (my 24-hour story).
[livejournal.com profile] displacedtexan is reading "Life in a Medieval Castle" for me. According to him, not enough about sanitation in it to interest me.

He's really good at that. He has a good idea of what I'd find interesting, and he reads all the time.... ;o)

Too bad I don't retain more!
