Hive mind question...
It's 1905 near Saratoga Springs, NY. Someone shoots your race horse. What do you do with the corpse?
ETA: Found what I was looking for. I knew there had to be some tradition for racing...
When a horse dies, only the head, heart, and hooves are buried. The rest of the body is cremated and scattered. Head for knowledge, heart for character, hooves for speed.
I found this from several sources so I think it's pretty widely accepted. I'll still call in the knacker and have him do it....and bury the parts on the track's infield.
